Drop-In Social and Recreations:

Quality Community Outing’s Day Room is a drop-in social room for participants to enjoy independent and interactive activities. Daily we offer Switch Nintendo gaming, coloring and creative arts and crafts, puzzles, card games, board games and more!  Feel free to check out our online calendar or stop on by to join in on the fun. 

 

Painting:

This is great place to express your creative side. This is a safe and supportive environment to express your creative side. You will have access to watercolors, acrylics, paint brushes, white paper, and canvas paper with no extra charge. No experience needed. Painting aprons to protect clothing will be provided. 

 

Journaling:

We use journaling and free writing as a form of self-expression, a way to process emotions, and build self-confidence. Pencils and paper are provided. Participants may share what they have written or keep it private. If a scribe is needed, a staff member would be happy to scribe your thoughts and ideas for you.

 

Balloon/ball toss:

Have fun tossing a balloon to one another. If it drops your out. This is a fun activity to meet friends and have fun.

 

Table-top bowling:

Have fun bowling and seeing the pins fall. This is a fun social activity to meet friends and have fun.

 

 

Coping, Calming, and Grounding:

Do you want to learn how to calm yourself when you are angry, upset, or anxious? We will focus on breathing exercises, grounding techniques, journaling, and other methods to help you calm yourself.

 

Creative art activity:

Come participate in making a fun craft. Our staff will guide you through making a fun craft that you can take home.

 

Create a memory book or memory collage using photos or magazines:

Come explore our magazine or bring your own. Make a memory collage or something that inspires you.

 

Movie and popcorn: Come watch a movie and have some popcorn.

 

Bingo: Who’s going to get a bingo? Let’s have fun together with Bingo. We will play several rounds and different games. Prizes are to be won.

DND:

Storytelling and role-playing  is the key to this game. This is a safe space to create space for self-exploration. Each player builds a character to navigate through adventures and missions. This is low pressure games with imagination, creativity, and fun.  We focus on non-violent story telling for this game.

 

Music and songs:

This group listens to songs new and old and discusses them. We will talk about the artists that create the music and how we feel when we listen to them. Music is an easy way to help lighten the mood.

 

 

Connecting with others:

This group discusses ways to interact with people in our community and people at home. We will learn social skills and talk about how we can make better connections with people. Participates are encouraged to give tips with what works for them and a way to talk out situations that didn’t work.  

 

Crosswords and related word games, done together for discussion

 

Book review and discussion:

We will read a book together and discuss the book.

 

Current events, reading the newspaper together:

We will read the newspaper together and discuss the paper together.

 

Card and board games- social hour

 

Keep a weather calendar:

Is it going to be raining or sunny. Let’s track the weather together and see if we can find patterns or predict the weather.

 

Card making:

Let’s make a card for a friend or a loved one.  Card materials are available at no charge to use.
